Curious about how Chicago’s streets could better serve people instead of cars? Want to play a role in shaping safer, more joyful public spaces? Mobilize Chicago’s Inaugural Summit is a half-day gathering that blends art, design, and civic dialogue to reimagine people-first streets. All are warmly invited to join—no prior experience needed.
The program kicks off with a conversation featuring leaders from the Chicago DOT, Equiticity, and the Metropolitan Planning Council. Afternoon activities include a hands-on design workshop, a participatory budgeting simulation facilitated by UIC’s Great Cities Institute, and the creation of a community-built installation.
In collaboration with designer Danya Almoghrabi, dance artist Hanna Di Lorenzo, and the Great Cities Institute at UIC.
