Join Bike Grid Now, in partnership with the McKinley Park Development Council (MPDC), for a bike-and-talk ride through current and future segments of the South Branch riverwalk trail. We will make frequent stops to highlight parts of the South Branch Connectivity Project Framework Plan.
Since the trail is not developed yet, we will be using some unfriendly roads on the “Advanced Ride”. We recommend families to join us for the 11am “Family Ride” over calm streets, which will travel at the pace of the slowest rider.
- A bike bus (a coordinated group ride with marshal support) will run on calmer streets from the northeast corner of McKinley Park at 10am to the ride’s 11am start.
- Bike buses from Pilsen, Chinatown, or Bridgeport may be added if registrations indicate strong interest. Please fill out the registration form or contact us for details.
- Riders can take the CTA Orange Line back home from the Halsted stop near the end of the family ride, or utilize the #62 Archer bus.
- Riders going in the same direction may also coordinate a return trip group ride.
Riders are welcome to join us for a post-ride lunch at a Chinatown location, as of yet undetermined.
